Tyeese L. Gaines, DO, MBA, MA, FACEP

Medical Director
Dr. Tyeese L. Gaines is a Board-Certified Emergency Medicine physician, serving as UltraMed’s Medical Director.
After earning her bachelor’s degree from Northeastern University in Boston and her Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from Nova Southeastern University in Florida, she completed her residency training at Yale-New Haven Hospital, where she was chief resident and later taught as a clinical instructor. She also completed her Master’s degree in Journalism from Northeastern and an MBA from UNC’s Kenan-Flager Business School.
Dr. Gaines most recently served as Medical Director and Chairman of the Emergency Department at Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket, RI, where she was instrumental in efforts to improve ED throughput times and quality measures. She previously worked as the Assistant Medical Director of two Emergency  Departments at Raritan Bay Medical Center in New Jersey. Dr. Gaines has also managed teams in both the non-profit and news media arenas.
In addition to her path to medicine, Dr. Gaines has enjoyed a 16-year career in print and broadcast journalism, including 7 years working for various NBC outlets. She recently started her own agency for doctors interest in media training, Doctor Ty Media.
In 2014, she became a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians and in 2011 was honored with a Top 40 under 40 award from the National Medical Association. She is very active with the American Medical Association, proudly serving on their Minority Affairs Section Governing Council since 2013.

Dan Williams, Psy.D., P.A.-C.

Physician Assistant
Mr. Williams is a licensed Physician Assistant who graduated from Touro College in 1981. He rotated through Albert Einstein college of Medicine and has practiced urgent care medicine for more than 25 years. He also has a Doctorate in clinical psychology.
He is certified in primary care medicine and has specialized in wilderness medicine and outdoor rescue. He has spoken with Fox News on the Mt. Hood rescue and has presented for the urgent care association of America.

Alex K. Joseph, MBBS, MSc, PA-C

Physician Assistant
Alex K. Joseph is a board certified Physician Assistant working in Emergency Medicine and Urgent Care. He is originally from South India where he obtained his medical degree at Mahatma Gandhi University. He was a general physician before he went to England for his postgraduate studies in tissue engineering and research in clinical medicine. He graduated from University of Wisconsin-Madison Physician Assistant program with recognition for academic excellence. Since then, he has been working in several Urgent Care clinics and Emergency Rooms in the suburbs of Chicago as a provider or consultant.
Alex’s passion and practice specializes in both the delivery of acute care medicine and the business aspects of running a profitable urgent care clinic. He is the founder and CEO of ConsultRight Clinic Solutions, an organization that provides comprehensive service packages to help clinics establish profit and maximize revenue and patient flow. Alex’s interests also include futuristic medicine, telemedicine, and medical risk management. He is speaking at the upcoming 2018 UCAOA conference in Las Vegas.
Alex has received several awards including the prestigious Dorothy Hodgkins Postgraduate award in England and Nature Magazine Prize at the Human Genome Conference in Montreal, Canada.
In his spare time, he enjoys singing, composing music on keyboard, water coloring, barbecuing, spending time outdoors with friends, and traveling. He resides in Chicago with his wife and 3 year old son, and enjoys life with family and friends.

Kayla Kohlmeier, MMS, PA-C

Physician Assistant
Kayla is a board certified Physician Assistant (PA) who recently graduated from Midwestern University in Downers Grove, IL.  Prior to PA school she earned her Bachelor of Science degree from University of Wisconsin – Platteville.  While obtaining her bachelor’s degree she was actively involved in two research teams in the oncology field, presenting at the ASBMB conference in 2014.
Kayla’s love for this setting of medicine began during her clinical rotations while working the ED.  She is a strong advocate of patient education, and works to ensure all patients understand their diagnosis and the proper management.
In her free time, Kayla enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, and long distance running.
